Executive Coaching Services
Dr. Jodie Knott provides individualized coaching services in which she acts as a thinking partner to assist an individual in meeting personal and professional goals. Coaching is an ongoing relationship between the professional coach and the client, which focuses on the client taking action toward the realization of his or her vision, goals or desires. Coaching uses a process of inquiry and personal discovery to build the client’s level of awareness and responsibility and provides the client with structure, support and feedback.
Executive Coaching is Different than Psychotherapy
While psychotherapy focuses more on the past, underlying concerns, and mental illness, coaching is an action oriented approach that focuses on the present and future as a means to assist a highly functioning person towards excellence. If issues arise in coaching that are best dealt with in a therapeutic context, the client will be provided with appropriate referrals to licensed mental health professionals.
Assessment Services Provided in Coaching:
Dr. Jodie Knott administers several measures to assist with leadership development. These measures are utilized to increase self-awareness, identify strengths, and uncover potential blind-spots in leaders. Goals in coaching are often related to strengths and potential growth areas revealed through the assessment process.
Common Measures Include:
a) Myers Briggs Type Indicator—Identifies personal style.
b) BarOn Emotional Quotient Inventory—Measures emotional, personal, and social aspects of emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence is understanding yourself, managing yourself, and understanding others and managing relationships with others. Emotional intelligence has been linked with key indicators of peak leadership and can be taught.
c) FIRO-B—Assists individuals with understanding their interaction approaches, especially group dynamics and leadership in organizations.
d) Spectrum CPI 260 Coaching Report for Leaders—Measures leadership characteristics related to self-management, organizational capabilities, team building and teamwork, problem solving, and sustaining the vision.
e) Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI)—360 Degree Feedback Measure in which the individual and others rate the individual on leadership practices of exemplary leaders.
