Consultation
Dr. Knott provides a variety of consultation services including: attending school meetings (to address a child's learning ability and necessary academic accommodations), parent training, and program development.
Dr. Knott attends school meetings, as necessary, to advocate for a child and their specific academic or emotional needs. She considers school meetings to be essential for parents, teachers, school officials, and psychologists to work together to best meet the needs of a child. Typically, the most successful plans include: altering the academic environment to accommodate for a child's specific learning difficulties; utilizing a child's strengths to overcome struggles; increasing the communication between school and home; and creating positive reward-based programs for the child. | | |
